Post Malone is 2025’s Record Store Day Ambassador
Record Store Day has been a beloved holiday for record collectors and indie shops across the US and UK for nearly two decades. What once was a group of record store owners and their employees banding together with the goal of celebrating their unique corner of the industry blossomed into hundreds of record stores and artists collaborating. For years, independent record stores have benefitted greatly from the event; stores boast mind-blowing, long queues around the block at the early hours of the morning. These vinyl-fanatics may seemed crazed, but have valid reasons - special editions of beloved LPs, EPs and singles are created by participating artists, and collectors are happy to get their hands on whatever they can with hopes of getting the pick of the litter.
Each year, Record Store Day chooses one artist or band to be its ambassador. In 2009, it was Jesse Hughs who is best known for his work with Eagles of Death Metal in the late 90s and early 2000s. Ambassadors across the years have included Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Jack White, Metallica, Brandi Carlile and Taylor Swift. This year, big-time rap-gone-country artist, Post Malone , is the honorary face of the event.
The 2025 Record Store Day will be held on the 12th of April - the list of vinyl has not been released yet. For more information, visit Record Store Day UK’s website.
